SIN: Changi Cove [Before COVID-19]

351 Cranwell Road, Singapore

Here comes another throwback to 2018 before COVID-19 hit our shore: a relaxing staycation at Changi Cove (4*) that's located in the tranquil part of the Changi area. In fact, recently I scored a pretty good deal and would be going back to the hotel soon, which is a restored heritage site occupying 4 hectares of lush natural greenery.

Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, the hotel offers a total of 112 guest rooms where you can rest and recharge.

There's a towering heritage tree, Chinese White Olive, standing in front of the building.

I recall the hotel being less than 50% occupied when I was there during a non-peak period.

Warm and friendly service at the front desk!

Free-flow snacks probably aren't available during the COVID-19 pandemic.

There's a counter selling some cakes and snacks.

To go to the guest rooms, you have to go to the second floor of the main block and go through an open-air linkway.

There's another heritage tree, Common Pulai, along the linkway.

The linkway brings you to the third floor of the other block that houses the guest rooms.

Don't ask me why, but I really have a fetish for long corridors.

Each of the Standard Rooms measures 22 square metres. Take note that only Deluxe Rooms are equipped with a mini fridge each.

The cocoon swing chair is a nice addition not commonly found in many other hotels.

Thank you for the complimentary Ritter Sport chocolates!

Interestingly, each room boasts a doodle wall. Basically a wall segment is coated with a whiteboard paint.

I'll definitely bring Pikachu and Melon to the hotel next time!
Here's just one photo of the view from the room.

The bathroom isn't so claustrophobic.

In contrast, Deluxe Rooms come with L'occitane toiletries.
There's a lounge located on the fourth floor. It's open to all guests from 7.00am to 10.00pm.

It's such a nice place to read a book.

The same snacks could be found at the lounge. Iced gem biscuits, anyone?

How I've missed self-service buffet breakfast!

Don't forget to get your daily dose of fruits, folks!

It's always nice to see an egg station, isn't it?
Apparently I didn't get the chance to write about the food and beverages in my food blog, so here are some photos of what I had that morning.

How do you like your eggs for breakfast?

Danish and chocolate muffin always make me happy.

The hotel doesn't have its own swimming pool and gym. It used to partner with Changi Beach Club, allowing guests to walk over to use the facilities there. However, it's no longer the case at the point of writing. Stay tuned for the next post to see how things have changed at the hotel.
