SIN: M Social Singapore [Phase 3 of Reopening]
90 Robertson Quay, Singapore
Happy New Year, everyone! A property under Milennium Hotels that manages at least 125 hotels across more than 20 countries, M Social Singapore (4*) is a chic hotel located at the vibrant Robertson Quay along the iconic Singapore River. Designed by Philippe Starck, a French architect, the hotel houses just slightly less than 300 guest rooms.

It was a quiet afternoon at Robertson Quay even though Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) had just ended and dine-in was allowed once again.
The colour of the river wasn't the best for sure.
The hotel first opened its doors to the public in 2016.
There's a bronze sculpture of a peanut near the main entrance of the hotel.
Perhaps due to the rather small size of the lobby area, check-in was actually done outside of the main entrance of the hotel. After collecting the keycard, I also made bookings for the 1-hour use of the swimming pool and the gym respectively.
I was lucky that there wasn't any queue.
Is the design of the lobby area to your liking?
Awwwwwww, otters in love! <3
The standard check-in time is at 3.00pm, and guests are expected to check out at 11.00am.
Such a cool LED ceiling light!
Here's a photo of the keycard.
The most affordable room type, Alcove Cosy Room, measures 19 square metres.
Raffles Lighthouse is located at Pulau Satumu, approximately 14 km south of the main island of Singapore.
I enjoyed the powerful rain shower.
The pitched ceiling reaches 4 metres.
The high ceiling does make the room feel a bit more spacious.
It's nice that there's a mini fridge despite the small size of the room.
Let's take a look at the view from the window.
“Look, up at the sky. There's a light, a beauty up there, that no shadow can touch.” ~ J. R. R. Tolkien
The swimming pool and the gym are normally open from 5.00am to 10.00pm daily. Unfortunately, I forgot to take note of their opening hours during the COVID-19 pandemic, but I remember they definitely weren't operating yet at 5.00am during my stay. Anyway, I had to collect a pool-cum-gym keycard at the front desk before going up.
The swimming pool and the gym are located on the fifth floor.
I managed to do a bit of lap swimming.
You can enjoy quite a nice panorama of Robertson Quay from the end of the pool.
The pool bar was closed when I was there. The coin-operated washing machine and dryer nearby only accept tokens that need to be purchased from the front desk.
The gym may be small, but it's better than the one at a particular 5* hotel that I'm going to write about sometime in the near future.
Do you know why a medicine ball is called so?
During my stay on weekdays, a la carte buffet breakfast was served from 6.30am to 10.00am at Beast and Butterflies, the hotel's only restaurant. Guests were given a slip of paper each to indicate their choices, and it was possible to order more items later on.
Beast and Butterflies looks so funky.
For a fee, it offers cocktail-making workshops if you're interested.
I'm sure it'll be much more fun to stay in a loft room instead of an alcove room. Many years ago, I had such an experience at the nearby sister hotel: Studio M Hotel (4*). I haven't had the chance to write about it here.
